WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – On Nov. 6, 2010, University of the Cumberlands’ marching band hosted High School Band Day. Band Day was initiated to allow high school band seniors the opportunity to be a part of UC’s band for a day; to see if they might be interested in attending and participating in the band at University of the Cumberlands.

Approximately 40 Kentucky high school students learned the musical pieces on Friday night while they practiced with the band. They marched onto the field Saturday during halftime of the football game with great confidence, and did a remarkable job.

Over 40 Senior Band Members participated in the University of the Cumberlands High School Band Day activities.

“Band Day has become a wonderful recruiting tool for UC,” said James Corcoran, assistant professor of music and director of the band’s drum line.
