Quentin Young Presented the Outstanding Accounting Award


Williamsburg, Ky. - On Monday April 25, University of the Cumberlands (UC) held their annual Honors Day Convocation. The program honors students, faculty, and staff for their achievements during the academic school year. One of the honored students was Quentin Young (Rockholds, KY) who was honored by the Edward L. Hutton School of Business with the Outstanding Accounting Award.

Quentin will be graduating in May with Honors having a minimum 3.70 cumulative standing and is being inducted into Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He is the current President of the UC Chapter of Sigma Beta Delta which is the business honor’s society, a member of the Hutton Business Club, and a member of the Kentucky Society of CPAs.

Quentin, as the captain of the UC PEAK accounting academic team, received a $3,000 Becker CPA Review scholarship. He was also the recipient of the 2010 Kentucky Society of CPAs, Stock Yards Bank Scholarship.

Young has been an active participant in campus and community volunteer activities including serving as the accountant for the campus Relay for Life event.

Quentin, the son of Lewis and Vicky Young, will be joining the Forcht Group upon graduation and plans on taking the CPA exam by December.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
