WILLIAMSBURG, Ky- University of the Cumberlands presented Brittney Strunk (Pine Knot, Kentucky) with the George I. Alden Endowed Scholarship during the fifty-second Honors Day Convocation on Monday April 25, 2011.

The George I. Alden Endowed Scholarship Fund, established in 1981 by the George I. Alden Trust, provides one-half tuition scholarships for six students and full tuition scholarships for two students; all of who must be majoring in scientific areas.

A junior biology major, Strunk received the one-half tuition endowed scholarship for the 2011-2012 year

Currently, Brittney is a high honor student having attained a minimum of 3.85 cumulative standing.
