First Southern, founded in 1983, is based in Stanford, Kentucky and is the parent company of First Southern National Bank. Correll serves as President and Chairman of the Board for this Foundation, which also functions as a vehicle for encouraging First Southern team members to give and serve through mission work.

Jesse is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of UTG, an over $400 million life insurance company headquartered in Springfield, IL. He is on the boards of Friends of the Good Samaritans (since 2005) and the National Christian Foundation (since 2006).

As a seventh-generation Kentuckian, Correll spends much of his time, money and energy on issues that threaten to destroy the people and heritage of his beloved state.

A native of Somerset, Ky., Jesse attended Asbury College. He is married to Angela Crouch Correll, formerly of Danville. He has three children – Adrienne (Andrew) Correll Martin of Louisville, Preston (Rachel) Correll of Stanford, and Leigh Correll of Louisville. He also has four grandchildren – Gus, Annie, Frances and Roman.
