The Ward Correll Health and Wellness Center is now open on the campus of University of the Cumberlands. In addition to serving students, faculty and staff at UC, the facility is free and open to anyone over the age of 18.
The 5,000 square foot facility, located on the bottom floor of the Boswell Campus Center, features brightly colored walls, brand new exercise equipment, free weights and fitness classes.
It was all smiles as students filled the gymnasium of Williamsburg Independent School on October 2nd to celebrate the fourth annual Project Fit America (PFA) initiative. In 2012, PFA partnered with Baptist Health Corbin to create a state-of-the-art program to help children be physically fit and reduce the likeliness of childhood obesity.
Earlier this year, Dr. Verna Lowe, joined the University of the Cumberlands team as Vice President for Compliance & Assistant to the President. Like so many other faculty and staff, Dr. Lowe quickly learned to appreciate the institution.

The Upsilon-Upsilon chapter of Phi Alpha Theta has again for the thirty-eighth year received the national history honor society's best chapter award for Division I, which includes schools with undergraduate enrollment of less than 3,000.
For more than three decades, the Mountain Outreach program at University of the Cumberlands has worked to build homes and change lives. Thanks to widespread support from students, volunteers and philanthropic givers, the organization shows no signs of slowing down.
