Asher Hall

The George M. Asher Memorial Hall was first occupied in fall of 1976. Asher is home to more than 140 female students. Because rooms are arranged in comfortable suites of three double-occupancy rooms, Asher Hall is particularly popular among junior and senior women who have had the opportunity to develop close friendships with other resident students.

All residence halls are smoke free. Each room has a cable television hookup (cable is free of charge), Ethernet and wireless internet connections, and a landline telephone connection. Laundry facilities on campus can be used by resident students free of charge.

Residence halls offer a limited number of rooms for students who are granted accommodations for allergies or other health issues. An application for an accommodation must be made to Dr. Tom Fish, Dean of Undergraduate Studies.


Erin Clouse

Archer Hall Director

Erin Clouse has been a residence hall director in Asher Hall since fall of 2013. Before that, she served a resident assistant and residence hall director in Gillespie Hall.  

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Erin graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Fine Arts. She is currently working on a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. Erin married Nathaniel, a UC admissions counselor, in 2012. Erin is an active member of Grace on the Hill Church in Corbin.

Erin has been very active on campus. She works with Student Services in the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation and the INSIGHTS program. She has also participated in Dance Team and Chamber Choir.

Erin has many wonderful memories of UC, including House Council, the Midnight Easter Egg Hunt, and the Miss Gillespie Hall Pageant. Her message to her residents is to “enjoy your time here! This is a big family. If you let it, your time in Asher Hall will be some of you favorite memories!”
