The course assists students in acquiring the knowledge and skills for effective pastoral ministry in the local church. Students will study the purpose of preaching/teaching and will examine the practical steps necessary for communicating the gospel. Students will also examine the functions of pastoral care as it relates to counseling, visiting the sick, and ministering during times of crisis and grief. Additionally, special emphasis will be given to the importance of caring for one's physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual health. Credit, 3 hours. Offered 1st Bi- Term in the spring of odd-numbered years.
