Mission and Goals

The Department of World Languages provides students with tools for today’s global economy. Our minor degree in French includes courses in the French language and the literature and cultures of France, Francophone Africa, Quebec, the Caribbean, and more. French courses at all levels aid students in developing their skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students working towards a minor degree in French explore the cultures of the French-speaking world through course work, field trips, extracurricular activities, and study abroad. The minor degree in French pairs perfectly with any major and will help students in fields such as education, tourism, and mission work.
