Dr. Bobbie Huff began her career in education as a middle school teacher in London, KY. In that position, she had over 16 years of successful P-12 experience with students from diverse backgrounds and varying academic abilities. Her leadership skills and excellent record of student achievement caused her to be selected to receive the Campbellsville University’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 1993 and again in 2004.
In 2008, Dr. Huff transitioned into a Curriculum Specialist position in the Laurel County School District. Following her stent as a Curriculum Specialist, she took a position as an elementary teacher where she served as a 5th grade math teacher, site-base member, Superintendent Search Committee member, KTIP Resource Teacher, and Lead Teacher. Dr. Huff’s leadership and impressive student achievement resulted in consecutive Kentucky Teacher of the Year nominations in 2012 and 2013.
In 2014, Dr. Huff accepted a position as an Assistant Professor at University of the Cumberlands. Dr. Huff has taught various methods courses, supervised student teachers, and served as a Teacher Educator for the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program. After completing her Doctorate in 2017, Dr. Huff accepted the Undergraduate Department Chair position and works with colleagues to ensure the University of the Cumberlands’ School of Education continues to produce high-quality candidates who are highly sought after by P-12 schools.
Dr. Huff is married to Pastor Mark Huff, who is also an assistant principal of a local school. They reside in London, Kentucky where they are actively involved in church and like to spend time outdoors. They have two children, Tyler Huff who is married to Emily Huff and Alli Moore who is married to Jacob Moore. Tyler and Alli are also both educators in their local schools. All members of the Huff family are proud Alumni of the University of the Cumberlands.
