Dean, School of Information Technology | Associate Professor

Juris Doctorate, Valparaiso University School of Law 2007
Master of Arts, Ethics, Valparaiso University 2006
Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville 2000

Ed Zuger teaches and researches laws and regulations affecting the technology industry with particular focus on security and privacy issues. He believes that the legal and ethical rigors will engage the best students who understand that technological skills, while important, comprise only a portion of the most marketable professionals. Professor Zuger, in the same vein, brings these and other so-called soft skills to IT as well as to students interested in business or criminal justice.

He is a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Kentucky where he has handled hundreds of cases up to multi-billion dollar disputes in civil law, the energy and environmental sector, and immigration and nationality. His industry and government services reflect leadership roles in hospital administration and fraud detection and prevention.

Outside of classroom and campus activities, Professor Zuger champions the Chicago Cubs as a lifelong fan of the so-called loveable losers. Backpacking, hiking, stand-up paddleboarding and other outdoor adventures help keep him dedicated to his passion for the environment and a healthy ecology.
