Dr. Thomas Seiler, J.D., CPA, CGMA prior to coming to the University of the Cumberlands in 2016, Dr. Seiler taught at Franklin University for 16 years serving as the Dean of the Ross College of Business and as a Professor in the Master of Science in Accounting program. In addition to education, Dr. Seiler has enjoyed careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, and law.

Dr. Seiler has more than 24 years of significant accounting experience. As a public accountant, he worked for both Arthur Andersen in Columbus, Ohio and Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Ft. Myers, Florida. As a corporate accountant, he managed financial operations for the Legal Division of Bank One Corporation (now known as JPMorgan Chase).

Dr. Seiler has more than six years of significant law experience. As an attorney for Bank One Corporation, he practiced law in the areas of commercial real estate, procurement of goods and services, and retail banking.

At Franklin University, Dr. Seiler (Professor Emeritus) served as President of Faculty Senate and on numerous faculty and staff committees.  He has also taught internationally - teaching faculty from multiple universities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in November 2013 and to students at WSB University in Poland in December 2014.

Dr. Seiler has been active in the community serving on the Finance Committee of the United Way of Central Ohio, Executive Board of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the Ohio CPA Foundation, Vice Chair of the Regional Conference Committee of the Institute of Internal Auditor’s North American Board, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and as a board member of the Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in Florida.
