Dr. De Queiroz has been working in public and private sectors of Information Technology for thirty-eight years. Primarily working in a Federal Bank with mainframes and Cobol compilers back in the early '80s, then taking a short break and working for SAP as an ERP Consultant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After moving to the USA in 2000, he pursued his MBA and got hired at Campbellsville University as Help Desk Specialist to IT Director. After 15 years and looking for different challenges in his career, he moved to work for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) providing worldwide support for the General Services Administration (GSA) as part of the Network Operations Center (NOC), he then finished his second master’s in information security at University of the Cumberlands. He then joined the IT and CIS departments at the University of the Cumberlands, where he became the System Architecture and instructor for the CIS Master and Undergraduate programs respectively.
Dr. De Queiroz has been instructing a number of related Computer Science courses for undergraduate more than 16 years and online graduate courses for the past four years. Prior to joining full-time academia, Dr. De Queiroz held the position of Network Director at the University of the Cumberlands where he was responsible for the overall performance and availability of the enterprise network. His current research interests include Drones, Big Data Systems, Interconnecting Network Devices, Malware Analysis, and cyber-security.
Dr. De Queiroz feels blessed to be a part of the University of the Cumberlands and have the opportunity to use his knowledge to help students achieve their career goals. When not working, Dr. De Queiroz enjoys spending time with family, traveling, flying his drones or reading.
