Professor Kyra Gambrel is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specialized and practices Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology medicine. She joined the University of the Cumberlands in June 201. She has served in healthcare since 2000 originally working in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. She currently practices in both the hospital and outpatient settings for CHI/Saint Joseph Health in London, Ky. Professor Gambrel grew up locally in Williamsburg, KY and continues to reside close to the university. She is married with three sons, one of which is currently attending UC and majored in Pre-Medicine. Professor Gambrel is an active member of several professional Nurse Practitioner organizations on the state and national level and currently resides as the Regional Director for the Kentucky Coalition on Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives (KCNPNM). Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling, reading mystery novels and cooking. In her spare time, you can usually find her sitting in the bleachers on a football field cheering her sons on. She is a loyal supporter of Corbin Redhound and UC Patriot Football.
