UC Book Club - By Any Other Name

Make plans now to join the UC Book Club on Wednesday, May 28, at 4 p.m. via Google Meet for a discussion of By Any Other Name by popular writer Jodi Picoult.  The novel features alternating narrations of two struggling female playwrights, one from contemporary times and one from the Renaissance.  In fact, the latter becomes so frustrated with her career that she pays an actor named — are you ready? — William Shakespeare to be the name behind her plays.  Booklist starred its review and calls the novel "a timely and affecting tale." Elle calls the novel "an inspiring work of feminist literature" while The Christian Science Monitor praises the book for being "extensively researched and richly imagined."
