As part of University of the Cumberlands' Bachelor’s degree requirements, each student must complete at least 120 semester hours (25% taken at UC), including those within the major and the coursework required in the sections listed below:
- General Education (may transfer in hours from Associate Degree)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Integrated Studies
*30 of the last 36 hours must be completed at UC
Blended Online Format
- While all courses are offered in an online format, some courses have a clinical component
- All online RN-BSN students must complete the exit exam prior to graduation
- Fees may be applicable for the exam

- NURS 333 Statistics for Nursing
- NURS 334 Healthcare Communication
- NURS 335 Nursing in a Multicultural Environment
- NURS 336 Research and Nursing Practice
- NURS 337 Advanced Health Assessment
- NURS 339 Healthcare and Social Policy
- NURS 432 Global Health Nursing
- NURS 441 Community Healthcare (4 credits)*
- NURS 445 Principles of Healthcare Management (4 credits)*
- NURS 490 Senior Seminar
While all courses are offered in an online format, some courses have a clinical component*. All RN-BSN students must complete the exit exam prior to graduation.
In addition, students graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing must complete the following:
- Transfer credits from an accredited AS-RN program posted at the time of admission into the program. These credits must have originally been earned with a grade of “C” or better and will normally include 38 hours of coursework in the following areas:
- Human Anatomy and Physiology
- Microbiology / Medical Microbiology
- Didactic and Clinical Instruction in such venues as Surgical Nursing, Maternal and Newborn Nursing, and Pediatric Nursing
