University of the Cumberlands and Union College are partnering with Kentucky Harvest Southeast again this holiday season to raise food for local foodbanks. Each year, the colleges see who can donate the most food to local pantries before the holidays, which are typically the months with heaviest need for foodbanks. This year, the competition begins October 15 and finishes November 15.

Applications for University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) physician assistant (PA) program on Cumberlands’ campus in Florence, Kentucky are now being accepted. Those interested have until March 1, 2019 to apply.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) will be hosting its first Pats Serve event on October 19. Pats Serve is a new initiative in which UC’s administration sets aside one day each semester for the UC family to provide community service to the local area.

The Department of Nursing at University of the Cumberlands (UC) has added a Medicaid Nurse Aid online class to its program offerings. NRSOL 100: Medicaid Nurse Aid is a three-credit hour course lasting eight weeks, offered both on-campus and online. Those who successfully complete the course are eligible to sit for state testing to become official Medicaid Nurse Aids.

Appalachian Ministries (AM), an outreach program run through University of the Cumberlands (UC), recently hosted its annual Shoes 4 the Soul event on UC’s campus. Each year, just as a new school year begins, students and staff from University of the Cumberlands assist hundreds of children by providing new shoes, socks and backpacks filled with school supplies at Shoes 4 the Soul.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) is awarding $19 million in scholarships to its undergraduate student body this academic year. Additionally, though this year’s undergraduate student body is the largest in Cumberlands’ history, 99 percent of them are receiving financial aid.

University of the Cumberlands, a private, post-secondary institution in southeastern Kentucky, announced today that it will reduce tuition by 57 percent beginning next academic year. The goal of the tuition cut is to increase the affordability of a private education at Cumberlands while offering more transparency in the financial aid process for students and families.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) recently welcomed onto campus its largest undergraduate student body in the school’s history. 1,366 undergraduate students are enrolled at UC this semester and are currently busy preparing for their first classes of the year, which start on Wednesday, August 22.
