Required Courses 6-9 Hours

All courses are three (3) credit hours. This certificate is issued to holders of a provisional certificate in School Counseling with completion of one (1) year of full- time employment as a provisionally certified school counselor (two years if no previous teaching experience) in a public school or non-public school that meets the state performance standards as established in KRS 156.160.  

Six (6) hours for Standard Certification or Nine (9) hours for Provisional Certification 
Candidate will choose the appropriate number of hours from the following courses in order to be recommended for the Standard Certificate or Provisional Certificate in School Counseling:

A Note on State Testing

Testing to become a State Registered Nurse Aide or Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) is provided by the state of Kentucky and not the University of the Cumberlands. The Medicaid Nurse Aide Training (NRSOL 100) course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and experience you need to pass that test.

Certified Dietary Manager, CDM

Become a Certified Dietary Manager

Dietetics is the high-tech science of applying food and nutrition to health. It is a vital, growing field open to creativity and opportunity and the possibilities are endless. Employment of dietitians is expected to grow at the rate of 11% between 2018 and 2028, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Dietetics is a dynamic profession offering many different opportunities for practice. Individuals with CDM and CFPP credentials continue to earn more than those without them.

A Note on State Testing
Students are eligible for ANFP Pre-Professional membership and graduates of the program (courses) are eligible for the CDM Credentialing Exam and ANFP Professional membership. Classes may be taken alone to pursue the CDM, CFPP credential, or taken as part of the Allied Health Science degree.
