A native of Laurel County, Kentucky, Dr. Cailen Wattenbarger Baker has greater than 18 years of experience in a variety of healthcare settings including acute care, leadership, nursing education, academia, and psychiatry. Dr. Baker resides in Kentucky with her husband and two daughters. She came to University of the Cumberlands and opened the School of Nursing in 2014, with nursing not being part of the University since the 1970's. Dr. Baker serves the Appalachian community through her work at University of the Cumberlands and also through ownership of a private practice in southeastern KY where she practices psychiatric care one day per week.
