HSRV437. Mental Health

HSRV 437 is designed to address specialized mental health issues related to individuals and families. The course will explore diagnosing mental health disorders and how those disorders affect the everyday lives of the individuals with the disorder as well as those around them. Students will be instructed on how to intervene in a range of different settings with client systems of any size. The common body of knowledge, values, and skills used in mental health will be taught. This course will emphasize the main concept that the most effective change occurs when a professional addresses problems on micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Credit, 3 hours. Prerequisites: HSRV 131, SOCI 131
