REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR OF ARTS WITH A MAJOR IN SPANISH LEADING TO P-12 CERTIFICATION – 40 hours
- SPAN 131 Elementary Spanish I
- SPAN 132 Elementary Spanish II
- SPAN 231 Intermediate Spanish I
- SPAN 232 Intermediate Spanish II
- SPAN 331 Spanish Comp & Conversation I
- SPAN 411 P-12 Content Knowledge in Spanish
- SPAN 431 Methods Teaching Foreign Language
Five or more of the following are required:
- SPAN 332 Latino Culture and Literature of the United States
- SPAN 334 Survey of Spanish American Literature
- SPAN 336 Culture and Civilization of Spanish American
- SPAN 435 Advanced Conversation in Spanish
- SPAN 436 Spanish for Business and Commerce
- SPAN 437 Introduction to Spanish Translation and Interpretation
- SPAN 490 Special Topics in Spanish / Hispanic Culture
- SPAN 491* Cultural Immersion in Spanish
- SPAN 492* Independent Research in Spanish

**Students who have academic credit or can demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English and Spanish will receive credit for this requirement, pending department chair approval.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN SPANISH LEADING TO P-12 CERTIFICATION – 28 hours
