Dr. Cooley is a Professor of Marketing at Texas Southern University, and the owner/operator of D & C Consulting.  She teaches Principles of Marketing, Marketing Channels/Sales, Strategic Marketing Management, Marketing Research, Managerial Communications, and Advertising/IMC courses to undergraduate and graduate students.  She is the advisor to the top-performing, Top 10 International Collegiate American Marketing Association chapter, and while in this position, she has had the opportunity to coordinate and implement the International Marketing Exchange Excursion for undergraduate business students to travel to China during the summer, as well as, lead her chapter to the title of 2017 & 2018 Top Small Chapter of the Year, 2019 & 2020’s Top 10 Chapter of the Year, and 2021's Top 25 Chapter of the year at the American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference. She is also a member of the Collegiate Chapters Council and has served as the Co-Chair of the International Collegiate Conference, as well as, President-Elect, President, and Past-President of the Collegiate Chapters Council.

Dr. Cooley has published her research in several different types of formats ranging from academic journals to academic international conferences.  She has published articles in the Journal of International Consumer Marketing, Journal of Education for Business, Journal of Internet Commerce, International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing, Academy of Marketing Science Review, The Online Journal of Distance Education and e-Learning, Academy of Marketing Studies Journal, Journal of Social Media in Society, and Southwestern Business Administration Journal.  Her research interests cover topics such as, healthcare marketing, online communities, ethnic marketing, social media and communication, distance learning and education, branding, career management, social media in career management, as well as, cross-cultural behavior and advertising.  She has also published 2 books, “Are You Making the Right Impression? Preparing NOW for Life after College” and “Be Your Best Career Architect: Here are the Blueprints!”

She received a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Health Care Administration, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville.  She received her Doctorate of Philosophy in 2006 from the University of Memphis.  She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Order of Eastern Star, the Collegiate Chapters Council of the American Marketing Association, Co-Chair of the International Collegiate American Marketing Association Conference, Academy of Marketing Science, and Society for Marketing Advances, and a member of the 2010 class of Who’s Who in Black Houston.  She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the International Collegiate American Marketing Association Conference.  She attends Higher Dimension Church where she is an active member serving in several ministries.  Her passion is to reach as many children and youth as possible to let them know that they can be ANYTHING!
A native of Hope, AR, Dr. Cooley is the wife of Cornelius Cooley and the proud mother of 3 children: Moesha, Zachary, and Sebastian.
