Dr. Emmanuel Anama-Green enjoys helping beginning and future teachers in their educational journey. In addition to teaching classes at the University of the Cumberlands, Dr. Anama-Green is a full-time high school Spanish teacher for Harlan County Public Schools in eastern Kentucky.
Dr. Anama-Green’s research interests include Second Language Acquisition (SLA), action research, and teaching methodology. Dr. Anama-Green’s dissertation topic focused on the correlation of educators’ teaching styles and accommodations for students who are learning English as an additional language. During his second master’s degree, Dr. Anama-Green researched how intervening with online communication platforms (i.e., Skype, Google Meet, etc.) might impact a student’s willingness to communicate in an additional language.
Dr. Anama-Green was the recipient of the 2016 Kentucky Spanish Teacher of the Year award sponsored by the Kentucky chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese (AATSP).
When not involved with professional endeavors, Dr. Anama-Green loves to travel internationally.
