As a Commonwealth of Kentucky certified Health and Physical Education teacher, Dr. Sarah Sabon work in the public schools lead to a passion for the Health and Physical Education of all individuals, which she emphasizes in her pedagogy classes at the University of the Cumberlands. She sees her students as leaders in their respective communities and encourages them to be healthy role models for others. Her latest project focused on the leadership preferences of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics coaches. She then looked at the sociological perspectives that may influence coach preferences and analyzed the results for significance. Dr. Sabon is an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, a National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Certified Health Education Specialist, and a former United States Swimming swim coach to all ages. Although she enjoys coaching, research, and the world of academia, Dr. Sabon also appreciates travelling with her family, spending time outdoors, or working out regularly at home, in the community, or in the campus wellness center.
