The Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program is a professional graduate program designed to prepare students to help individuals develop, recover, and maintain the skills needed for everyday living and meaningful participation in life. The curriculum combines foundational knowledge with applied learning in areas such as human movement, therapeutic interventions, and client-centered care. As a student in the program, you will engage in a blend of online coursework, interactive learning experiences, and hands-on training.
The curriculum includes didactic (book-learning) coursework, lab-based instruction, clinical fieldwork experiences, and a doctoral capstone that allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. Through this approach, students gain the practical skills and professional preparation needed to work with diverse populations across a variety of healthcare and community environments, consistent with Cumberlands’ emphasis on hands-on, career-focused education.
Join faculty and staff from the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program for a virtual or in-person information session to learn more about the program and the application process.
Representatives from the program will provide an overview of the curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, and admissions requirements, as well as answer your questions. Information sessions will be held in a virtual format. Once you are registered, you will receive a link for remote sessions.
