University of the Cumberlands has been listed among the top schools in the country in a number of rankings by Niche.

University of the Cumberlands recently achieved recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation as a 2019 Tree Campus USA. Tree Campus USA, a national program launched in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation, honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

Cumberlands was listed as the safest college campus in Kentucky in a recent 2020 ranking by YourLocalSecurity.com. The University was lucky number thirteen countrywide.

For the third consecutive year, University of the Cumberlands has been named a College of Distinction based on the University’s commitment to engaged, experiential education and student success and satisfaction.

University of the Cumberlands’ student newspaper The Patriot had tremendous success for the third consecutive year. Since 2017, The Patriot has won 65 awards from the Kentucky Press Association’s (KPA) annual awards banquet, earning them all with fewer than 10 people on staff in any one year.

The safety of a college matters. In a time when crime seems to be on the rise, safety has understandably become a major concern for prospective college students and their parents.

Two online programs at University of the Cumberlands were recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as being among the top programs of their kind nationwide.

U.S. News has ranked University of the Cumberlands (UC) in the top five percent of the nation’s Top Performers on Social Mobility for 2020.

The Chronicle of Higher Education has recognized University of the Cumberlands (UC) as one of the fastest-growing colleges in America, as reported in their annual Almanac of Higher Education.

University of the Cumberlands has been named a College of Distinction for 2019-2020. Only four schools in Kentucky received this honor.

University of the Cumberlands has been named the safest college campus in Kentucky – fourth-safest in the nation – in a new report released by safety experts at Your Local Security, an affiliate of home security professionals ADT. 

The staff at University of the Cumberlands’ student newspaper The Patriot raked in 29 General Excellence awards, three Advertising Excellence awards and one 2018 Most Valuable Member award at the annual KPA (Kentucky Press Association) Banquet.
