UC will accept any coursework taken at the 100-level or above from a KCTCS institution as long as they can be applied toward your Cumberlands Degree program.  Any credits not necessary for completion of your degree will not need to be accepted. We also have specific program pathways that help your credits go even further when transferring. Up to 75% of a transfer students undergraduate degree plan can be credited at Cumberlands. Now, you're getting somewhere.

Admissions requirements are standard throughout the university and applies to all students. Some programs have additional requirements in addition to the base standards. The purpose of the admission process is to identify applicants who are likely to succeed academically at University of the Cumberlands and at the same time contribute positively to the campus community. In making admission decisions the University considers many factors, including high school records (including courses taken, grade trends, and rank in class), standardized test scores, extracurricular activities and honors, and personal contact with the student. 
 

Transfer scholarships are available for students transferring to University of the Cumberlands from another college or university who will be enrolled in the on-campus undergraduate program. Eligibility and amounts are based on the student’s current college GPA. A student must have a college GPA of 2.5 or higher to qualify. There is a no application and the scholarship will automatically be awarded once the student has been accepted and completed the FAFSA. 

Many of Cumberlands bachelor degree programs are designed as a seamless pathway from associate degrees. Cumberlands wants you to receive credit for what you have earned. 

Here are a few highlights to UC’s transfer policy in relation to KCTCS students:

  • Undergraduate students can transfer up to 75 percent of their degree plan to Cumberlands. 
  • Students will generally receive credit for all college-level work in which a passing grade is earned, provided such credit is earned from an institution which is fully accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations. 
  • Remedial courses are not transferable. 
  • Grades lower than ‘C’ will not be accepted in courses which apply toward the student’s major.

Are you an Education major with clinical hours?
In addition to accepting your credits, with Department Chair approval, UC will review your clinical hours and work to help you transfer those that are applicable toward your Elementary Education or Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education program!
