Dr. Martin is interested in social studies education and sport coach education. His current research focus is historical leadership and how to apply it to the modern world. He has represented the United States as  head coach in international competition, leading Team USA Wrestling to Pan American and World Championships at various age levels. He is currently implementing athlete-centered leadership academies among middle and high school student-athletes. As a USA Wrestling Gold Certified Coach and the head coach for Pennsylvania's National Freestyle and Greco-Roman team, he was won multiple coach-of-the-year and person of the year awards. He loves rock climbing, outdoor adventures, and giving tours at Gettysburg National Military Park.  He resides just outside of Pittsburgh with his girlfriend and their three spoiled dogs.
