Dr. Aashis Luitèl is a seasoned cybersecurity professional and public leader working at the forefront of cloud security and AI governance. At Microsoft, he contributes to Security Copilot—the company’s flagship generative AI security product—helping shape secure and responsible AI solutions for high-impact public sector environments.

A U.S. Navy veteran with over a decade of experience across defense, academia, and the tech industry, Dr. Luitèl brings a mission-driven mindset to every setting. His work is grounded in the belief that technology must serve the public good—securely, ethically, and at scale.

As a part-time Professor at the University of the Cumberlands, Dr. Luitèl lectures in graduate-level courses on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Teaching is his passion, and through it, he is committed to preparing future leaders to think critically, act decisively, and design systems resilient to the complexities of today’s digital world.

Dr. Luitèl holds a Doctor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity from The George Washington University, and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University.
