Dr. Aashis Luitèl is a U.S. Navy veteran, Doctor of Engineering, and former Microsoft product leader with a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University. He brings over a decade of experience advancing cybersecurity, responsible artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud compliance across government, defense, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Before assuming his current role as a Lead Technical Program Manager for public-sector security and compliance, Dr. Luitèl worked at Microsoft, where he led efforts to bring the company’s most advanced AI security platform—Security Copilot—and threat intelligence solutions into regulated markets. His work focused on aligning AI innovation with privacy, compliance, and secure-by-design principles to support adoption in mission-critical environments.
As a part-time Professor at the University of the Cumberlands, Dr. Luitèl teaches graduate-level courses in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and advises PhD students conducting research on AI policy, AI ethics, and cybersecurity. He is committed to preparing future leaders to govern emerging technologies with clarity, accountability, and a strong sense of public purpose.
