Personal Approach to Learning

With a 20:1 student to faculty ratio and an average class size of 27, our faculty and staff are dedicated to making sure you’re successful throughout your time at Cumberlands.

Commitment to Your Career

Study Abroad Programs

We encourage our students to travel the world and immerse themselves in different cultures. That’s why we offer study abroad opportunities in Belize, England, Ireland, Costa Rica, France and Spain. Broaden your cultural knowledge of business, language, religion and medicine.

Location

Our campus is centrally located between Lexington, KY and Knoxville, TN and allows for weekend trips to Nashville, Louisville and Atlanta.  If you enjoy outdoor excursions to lakes, mountains, etc., our location lends itself to state parks and the breathtaking Cumberland Gap, just an hour’s drive away. Walk around campus and take in the spectacular Appalachian scenery!

Clubs & Organizations

Learn something about yourself through one of our 40+ clubs and organizations on campus. From Mountain Outreach charity organization to Outdoor Club and the Patriot Student Newspaper, this is your chance to try something new and meet your classmates.

Athletic Programs

If sports are more your speed, get involved in an intramural team including battleship (in the pool!), knocker ball or sand volleyball. If you have more of a competitive spirit, there are 29 intercollegiate NAIA Division I teams including archery, football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, swimming, tennis, golf and more. In fact, we have 17 different varsity level sports for both men and women.

Housing Options

We think that living on campus gives you the opportunity to make the most out of your college experience. We have 11 residence halls where students gather for late night study and hang out sessions. Beyond where you live, it’s how you live on campus. Unlike many other colleges, laundry is free. This helps you and your parents since you won’t have to ask for rolls of quarters for your holiday gift.

Attending college may not be right around the corner, but it’s not far off either. Now is your chance to start gradually preparing yourself. Make a list of your top picks. Visit campuses. Go to college fairs.

We hope you’ll take time to learn more about UC so that we can get to know a little bit more about you and what you’re looking for. Fill out the form on this page and let’s begin that conversation.
