Dr. Gary Perry is an adjunct professor at the University of the Cumberlands, School of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS).  Before he started his new career in teaching CIS in 2000, Dr. Perry spent 30+ years in IT, having worked for IBM for 11 years and Eastman Kodak for 9 years, then spending 10 years as a consultant.  Dr. Perry's dissertation for his PhD continued his career-long commitment to protecting organizations and individuals against hackers with his dissertation in cybersecurity which was Reinterpreting the Role of Hackers in the Cybersecurity Paradigm.  In his spare time, Dr. Perry continues his volunteer work in rescuing Basset hounds and his hobby of building wooden toys.
