Dr. Jim Atkinson can often be found camping, exploring historical sites or relaxing by the beach near his home. He was instrumental in the formation of the Oklahoma Workforce Development Initiative, taught at several Universities in the Southwest, served as Vice President for Student Services and retired as Dean of Community and College Relations. He spent many summers doing field research and ethnographic studies on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
