Dr. Mattes is a resident of eastern Pennsylvania and is a full-time Biology professor at a local community college. She taught high school biology for 10 years prior to taking a position at the community college. Her favorite subjects to teach are microbiology and anatomy and physiology.

When she is not teaching, she is raising four children who fill her life with joy. There are also 2 border collies, 5 rabbits, and 8 ducks who add to her very full life on her property. Hobbies include walking, running, and researching projects to build for her children and animals. In the near future, Dr. Mattes is looking to move to Idaho to be closer to her sister.
