Dr. Bundy received her B.B.A. from Eastern Kentucky University in 1993 and began her career as a Victim’s Advocate for the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in London, Kentucky. Early in her career she became deeply involved in developing coordinated community responses to child abuse and victimization. She organized the Laurel County Child Abuse Response Team and secured grant funding and community support to expand victim advocacy services in the region. Most notably, Dr. Bundy spearheaded the planning, development, and establishment of the Cumberland Valley Children’s Advocacy Center, bringing together law enforcement, prosecutors, social services, and community partners to strengthen services for abused children and their families.
In 2001, Dr. Bundy joined the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice as a Mental Health Clinician, providing counseling services to delinquent youth, including juvenile sex offenders. In 2002 she became a Juvenile Probation Officer and served in that role until 2015, working extensively with at risk youth and their families while emphasizing accountability, rehabilitation, and long term behavioral change.
Dr. Bundy earned her Master of Science in Corrections and Juvenile Justice from Eastern Kentucky University in 2007 and later completed her Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at the University of the Cumberlands. She now serves as a full time Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of the Cumberlands, where she draws on more than two decades of field experience in victim advocacy, juvenile justice, and community program development to prepare the next generation of criminal justice professionals.
She holds professional certifications in Juvenile Sex Offender Counseling, Group Counseling, and Seven Challenges Substance Abuse Counseling. Dr. Bundy is also a member of the National Scholars Honor Society and the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society.
Dr. Bundy and her husband Jim enjoy spending time with their son Scout and daughter in law, Lexie, and especially with their granddaughter Maddie and grandson Gus, who keep life entertaining. Their home is also shared with two beloved dogs, Rex and Ruby.
