Dr. Russell Carr joined the Cumberlands’ staff in 1998 with the Undergraduate Admissions Office as an Admissions Counselor then later as the Associate Director of Admissions. Since then, he has worked in the areas of financial aid as the Coordinator of Military Benefits, in Student Affairs as the Director of Career Services and Community Service, and currently in Academic Affairs as the Director of the Center for Career and Experiential Learning. Dr. Carr teaches in the School of Leadership as an adjunct professor specializing in Organizational Leadership. He also teaches first year study skills courses through the Office of Undergraduate Student Success to new freshmen each fall. Dr. Carr is Adult Mental Health First Aid certified from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. In addition, he is a veteran of the Kentucky National Guard serving as a Combat Medic Specialist. He currently resides in Corbin, KY with his wife and daughter.
