Dr. Shelly L. Mathewis is a Human Resource Professional with experience and expertise in Organizational Development, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Leadership Development, and Cultural Change Initiatives. Dr. Mathewis successfully originates and leads HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Dr. Mathewis implements people and organizational solutions from an organizational viewpoint and utilizes analytics to address and understand organizational dynamics to align with the business environment, implementing and refining long and short-term continuous improvement activities. Strong at building internal and external partnerships, Dr. Mathewis provides business leadership and consultation in all areas of HR.

As an Adjunct Professor, Dr. Mathewis successfully develops learning objectives and outcomes for her courses. She engages and teaches a diverse population of students with a wide variety of educational backgrounds and experiences.  She instructs at all higher education levels via both traditional classrooms and online. Her desire is to equip each student with the tools needed for professional and personal growth and success.

In 2017, Dr. Mathewis developed a six-session interactive Leadership Development Series that equips leaders to be confident and intentional with the choices they make, intuitively knowing what to do and what to say.  The focus areas are: Understanding Your Leadership Style, The Seven Most Common Mistakes Leaders Make (and How to Correct Them), Leading Across Generations and Diversity, Bringing Out the Best in Your Teams, Leading Through Change, and Resolving Conflict and Other Difficult Situations. 

Dr. Mathewis is originally from Kansas City, MO but now resides in Fort Worth, TX.  She enjoys traveling, performing in theatrical productions and watching her favorite football team, The Kansas City Chiefs.
