After graduating high school attended Alice Lloyd College for 2 years prior to being accepted into the King’s Daughter’s School of Radiologic Technology, in Ashland, Ky, graduating first in the class. She worked as a radiologic technologist for 12 years, cross training in CT and ultrasound. Wanting a career that allowed for greater patient involvement, she applied to and was accepted into the Physician Assistant program at the University of Kentucky graduating in 1998. Clinically, her experience as a PA has been in both internal medicine and family medicine. Collectively between the 2 careers, she has over 40 years of patient care.
She and her husband, Scott, live in Corbin where they raised their 3 children. Both have been involved with community sporting events, each coaching children’s basketball. They have also been involved with many ministries at their church including 10 years helping with a free medical clinic and 7 years spear-heading a feeding ministry that offered hot meals to people twice a month, serving over 200 meals each time.
Kathy enjoys creating stained glass art pieces and the challenges that it brings.
