Lorri Stivers just retired after 30 years of service in public education. During those 30 years, she taught high school English, Psychology, and Journalism, moved to the position of middle school instructional coach, worked as a middle school assistant principal for 6 years, and then served as a middle school principal for 13 years. In her final 4 years, Lorri joined the Kentucky Department of Education in the role of Education Recovery Leader. She is thrilled to continue supporting new teachers by returning to her alma mater, University of the Cumberlands (Cumberland College). During her time at Cumberland College, Lorri attributes much of her personal and professional growth to her work-study assignment at Cumberland College TV-3 where she worked as a reporter and news anchor from 1991-1995. The once shy young lady met and spoke to people from around the world as they visited the campus for ministry and learning opportunities. In her new role at UC, Lorri hopes to afford her students abundant opportunity and continuous growth much like her precious time at Cumberland.
