Tickets

Tickets are required for guests entering the undergraduate ceremonies. Tickets are not required for guests attending the executive or graduate ceremonies.

This year, Cumberlands will be using an e-ticketing system for students to request tickets. Tickets will be delivered to the student email and shareable with guests. All guests must have a ticket to enter graduation services.

Information regarding the date, time and process for requesting tickets will be made available to all students through their university email.

Safety Protocols

As of March 28, 2022, the university transitioned to a mask-optional policy for students, employees, and visitors with the exception of classrooms and lab spaces. This decision aligns with guidance provided by health officials and is similar to adjustments made at other colleges and universities. Masks will be provided upon entry to guests who would request this option.

For Students

Student Procession

Students participating in commencement should report to the Volleyball Gym no later than 45 minutes before their registered ceremony. Degree candidates will be lined up prior to the procession into the O. Wayne Rollins Center. Further instructions about the procession and ceremony will be provided at that time.

Caps, Gowns, & Announcements

It’s all part of the rite of passage: the stately parade with your peers, gowns flowing, the pomp, the circumstance and then throwing the cap high. Regalia is part of the tradition – and required attire for those in Commencement Ceremonies.

If you are participating in Commencement, you will need University-approved regalia. On Commencement Day, please bring all contents of your cap and gown packet. All university regalia is special ordered, so no "extra" supplies will be available to purchase at the last minute.

All students may order regalia by visiting or contacting the Campus Bookstore at 606.539.4354 or using the links below.

 Email ucbarnesandnoble@ucumberlands.edu for more information.

Diplomas & Transcripts

The University of the Cumberlands offers both a digital and paper diploma to students.

Your digital diploma complements your paper diploma but is faster to access and can be shared on social media. You will receive an email letting you know that your degree has been awarded, and in that email, we will give you instructions on how to how to claim your digital diploma.

You can expect to receive your paper diploma in the mail approximately three weeks after your degree conferral date. For reference, our diploma sizes are Associates and Bachelors - 8.5x11, Masters - 9x12 and Doctoral - 11x14.

If you have any questions about your University of the Cumberlands diploma or transcripts, please contact Registrar@ucumberlands.edu
