Hot cocoa with mini marshmallows floating happily on top, Christmas trees covered in twinkling lights, and the scent of sugar cookies baking in the oven all help bring the holiday feelings home. But there is something about Christmas music that touches the soul in a way only music can.

The University of the Cumberlands Department of Music hosted Dr. Kevin Priebe, piano professor at Kentucky Wesleyan University, and Dr. Sanghie Lee, piano professor at Northern Georgia University, during the fall semester.

The University of the Cumberlands Jazz Ensemble recently concluded a successful tour after the conclusion of the spring semester. The two-day tour included performances at four high schools, including Model Laboratory School, Grant County High School, Scott County High School, and Rockcastle County High School.

University of the Cumberlands music department highlighted music students during instrumental showcases on campus and at events around the country this semester. 

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) has named University of the Cumberlands collegiate chapter as recipient of the 2022 National Chapter of the Year Recognition Program Service Award.

Seven students from University of the Cumberlands recently participated in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Band in Louisville as part of the Kentucky Music Educators Association conference.

University of the Cumberlands celebrated Homecoming 2021 from October 22-24 with the theme of Happy Together. Indeed there were many happy moments for music alumni during this special Homecoming Weekend!
