University of the Cumberlands’ Department of Military Affairs is partnering with the Department of Veterans Affairs to host a Veterans Benefits Fair on Thursday, May 15th, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the university library and is open to the public.

Attendees can expect informative sessions led by representatives from Veterans Affairs. Experts will provide valuable insights on topics such as the GI Bill, VA healthcare, and other support services available to veterans and their families. These sessions are excellent opportunities for veterans and their loved ones to learn more about the benefits they’ve earned.

Cumberlands is committed to supporting those who have served or are currently serving in our nation’s military. The university offers flexible online programs, affordable tuition rates, military discounts and scholarships, and opportunities to earn college credit for military experience. These efforts have earned Cumberlands the prestigious distinction of being named a “Gold” Military Friendly® School for multiple academic years, including 2024–2025.

The upcoming benefits fair is one more way Cumberlands is giving back to the veteran community—by connecting individuals with helpful information and resources. Attendees are encouraged to come with questions and leave with answers.

“Often, Veterans are unsure of the VA resources that are available to them, so we hope to provide a local event where they can speak with VA representatives directly,” said Dr. Kami Corcoran, associate registrar. “We are excited to have the VA representatives on campus so they can help provide resources to students and the community.”
