Program climbs 17 spots, highlighting strong outcomes in AI education and career preparation

University of the Cumberlands’ Executive Master’s in Artificial Intelligence has been ranked No. 11 in the United States in TechGuide’s 2026 Best Master’s in Artificial Intelligence Programs.

The recognition places Cumberlands among the top AI graduate programs in the country, highlighting its continued growth in artificial intelligence education and workforce preparation.

According to TechGuide, a trusted resource for students and career seekers, earning a master’s in artificial intelligence helps professionals build expertise in data-driven decision-making and predictive analysis—skills that are increasingly essential across industries.

TechGuide evaluates colleges and universities nationwide using official IPEDS data (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System), reported annually to the U.S. Department of Education. Rankings are based on key student-focused metrics, including admissions selectivity, class size, faculty support, financial aid availability, graduation outcomes, and total enrollment.

Continued Growth in AI Program Rankings

University of the Cumberlands’ Executive Master’s in Artificial Intelligence program rose significantly in the 2026 rankings, climbing from No. 28 in the nation last year to No. 11 this year.

“Cumberlands’ improved ranking reflects continued growth and sustained academic strength,” Cruz said. “It highlights the program’s excellence and its impact in preparing students for successful careers in AI.”

Executive programs at Cumberlands feature hybrid course formats designed to support both international graduate students studying in the United States and domestic students seeking flexible learning options.

The Executive Master’s in Artificial Intelligence provides students with advanced knowledge, technical expertise, and an ethical foundation to meet increasing industry demand.

Building on this momentum, Cumberlands recently introduced an Executive Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence. The doctoral program expands study in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and data engineering.

Artificial Intelligence Careers and Job Outlook

A master’s degree in artificial intelligence can lead to a wide range of high-demand careers, including:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for professionals who can build and maintain complex data systems continues to grow alongside advancements in artificial intelligence. Employment for software developers is projected to increase by 17.9 percent between 2023 and 2033, significantly faster than the average for all occupations (4.0 percent).
