114 students from 10 regional high schools compete across math and science disciplines during campus event

University of the Cumberlands recently hosted its annual high school math contest, welcoming students from across the region to its Williamsburg, Kentucky campus for a day of academic competition and hands-on experience.

The event brought together 114 students representing 10 area high schools, offering participants the opportunity to test their skills in mathematics while exploring what their future could look like as students at University of the Cumberlands.

Hands-On Academic Competition and Campus Experience

Designed to challenge and inspire, the annual contest allows high school students to engage in rigorous academic competition across multiple subject areas. In addition to competing, students experienced the Cumberlands campus environment and connected with faculty and current students.

Twenty-eight Cumberlands undergraduate student volunteers supported the event, working alongside faculty to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.

Dr. Jennifer Simpson, provost of University of the Cumberlands, attended the awards ceremony and presented trophies, plaques, and certificates to this year’s winners.
